Born in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen and his wife began creating waterproof gear to withstand the ruthless Norwegian weather conditions, Helly Hansen has grown into an iconic fashion brand, worn and loved by many all over the world.

When their legacy platform was discontinued, Helly Hansen began looking for a new platform that was more user-friendly and scalable both from a backend and an end-user point of view. The company, known for making professional-grade gear for sailing, skiing and the outdoors, wanted to create the perfect blend of commerce and content in order to guide and inspire customers throughout their whole user journey.

Vaimo helped Helly Hansen to launch their mobile-first commerce solution on Magento Enterprise Cloud (now called Adobe Commerce) with an integration to Magento Order Management back in October 2016. This was the first and largest Magento Enterprise Cloud implementation at the time for Magento (now Adobe), with 27 sites and with 4 language options. The online store featured advanced integrations between WordPress and Magento Enterprise Cloud 2.1.4 and integration with Salesforce for customer service.
In 2019, Helly Hansen made a decision to move away from WordPress to a more robust content management system, Adobe Experience Manager, that allows them to easily scale into new languages and put the content out in the relevant places at relevant times with a simple click of a button. They also use online design system which integrates with Adobe Experience Manager.
Today, Helly Hansen has 55 stores on the Adobe Commerce installation with 65,000 products per store and with 10 different language options, payment methods and shipping rules. Their aim is to blend commerce and content by gradually moving the content over to Adobe Experience Manager, then move into better customer experiences and merging the commerce part.

“Back in 2016 we were looking for an eCommerce platform that would allow us to easily scale and enter with our B2C and B2B solution to new markets, supporting multiple languages, currencies, payment and shipping methods. Helly Hansen chose Vaimo as a solution partner for the commerce project because they were recommended by Magento. Their proven track-record of Adobe Commerce implementations, scale in number of developers and international presence were the key reasons we decided to work with them. Vaimo has played an important part in helping us to move from minus growth in 2016 to where we are in 2021, having more than tripled our business.”
