From June 25th - July 6th, Vaimo’s Tallinn Office hosted the Vaimo Summer School, now in its second year. The programme attracted a large number of excellent applications from which 7 candidates were chosen—based on their credentials and the quality and creativity shown in their application.
Over the two week period, participants were able to learn from experts across the Vaimo team about a broad range of topics related to programming and developing. And as a business that works with B2B and B2C clients across the globe, Vaimo was able to provide attendees with real-life project examples and scenarios as well as the latest know-how and knowledge.
The overall objective of the programme was to see participants eventually demoing and presenting a project of their own choosing and design. In order to get to this point, the first four days saw our students being taken through a variety of topics related to programming including such subjects as writing clean and readable code, package design patterns, CSS, scripts, user-testing and many more.
Following these initial sessions, our attendees were then tasked with coming up with their own project idea after which work began on planning the project and seeing this through to delivery. Members of the Vaimo team were on-hand throughout to guide and offer insight based on their own experiences. Then, to cap it all off, the group presented a full demo of their project to the Vaimo team—a fantastic achievement for all involved.
The Vaimo Summer School not only provides our attendees with cutting-edge knowledge but it also allows them to apply their skills in real-life scenarios. It is our objective that students leave with new perspectives, innovative ways of working and practical, hands-on experience—all invaluable attributes as they start out on their respective career paths.
